Revelator: On The Obsidian Shores of Patmos

I'm so pleased to announce the full length record by Revelator.  I got to play bass, and mix this record with some friends from high school.  It's a fun bit of rock and roll.  One of my teachers said it sounded like Roller Derby music.  I couldn't be more pleased to hear that description.  You can get at all the music by hitting the link below:

One neat thing about this record is that we did it over the internet, without actually being in the same room.  Each one of us would create an initial track, send that track to the others to hang their parts on and after a while - a new whole song would be done.  All the full quality parts would then be send to the mixer (which was me in this case, i'm happy to report), for the full mixing treatment to make every thing hang together.  I had a great time making this record, and am looking forward to making the second one soon.  And, once again, the incredible Andy Feuk make the art for one of our records.

You can stream the whole record over at bandcamp or pick up the record to own, by paying what you want.  We hand the power over to you, dear listener.  Because we love you.

Tonight The Moon Feels My Revenge

New Song Y'all!

My friend Matthew Simmons wrote a book on metal: "The Moon Tonight Feels My Revenge". And he threw a song contest to help get the word out. So, i said I'd pitch in and here it is:

It's a bit of a twee metal song, or very tender thrash core - take your pick.

You can vote for this song over at the bandcamp page - and please visit the book page, say hi, the book is 8 bucks and full of metal.
Ah! Culture!

Let me know what you think!

The Entangled Photons

Brüx Callison & The Entangled Photons
Release Date:2009
Label:Verse Chorus Verse
Length:1hour:04minutes

The Rundown

This is our most creative, and spontaneous record. There are songs being made up on the spot, some songs are sound collages, some are aimed at creating an atmosphere, and some are preplanned, full-blown songs with lyrics and everything. It’s diverse, and a little wild in spots. But if you listen in you can hear new ideas being born

The Rundown

This Minor Prophets record sounds sort of like a gloomy but groovy 4-track dance record. Some of the songs were recorded on a computer but most were on a cassette recorder. There are no words, but there are voices. The goal is to make a big, moving, dark sound with a pulse like a hidden heart. It’s our shortest and funkiest record.

The Rundown

This is a garage rock album. It’s loud and fast in parts and sounds a little bit like a Chapel Hill indie-rock band, and sometimes a little like a heavy Seattle band. The words are often yelled and are about things like skinny-dipping, sledding with a prophet and the magic of sneakers & skirts. People tell us it sounds like what it feels like to jump off a high dive and we really like the sound of that.
